Larry Lynch
Retired Sheriff, McLennan County, Texas

I have known Mark Lowery for more than twenty-five years. Our paths first crossed through work—Mark was serving as a U.S. Secret Service agent, and later as the head of President George W. Bush’s protective detail at the ranch in McLennan County. At the time, I was the Sheriff of McLennan County.
From the beginning, Mark stood out. He was not the typical federal official who arrived determined to tell local law enforcement how things should be done. Instead, his first question to me and to my staff was simple: “What can my team and I do to help you prepare?” That attitude of partnership defined every interaction we had.
Mark is a strong advocate for teamwork and shared purpose. He works hard, leads by example, and is always willing to contribute his resources to get the job done. During the eight years we worked together at the Bush ranch, I came to rely on him without hesitation. When there was a problem, I never had to wonder whether Mark was on the way—he always was.
Beyond his professionalism, Mark is a man of integrity. His word is his bond, and he follows through on what he says. Over time, our working relationship grew into a strong friendship. I even had Mark and members of his team in my home for a good Central Texas meal, and I came to respect him not just as a colleague, but as a person of character and loyalty.
Hood County would be well-served by a leader like Mark Lowery. I wholeheartedly encourage the citizens of Hood County to cast their vote for him as County Judge.
